Questions families ask
Which banks does it work with?
Any bank whose statement you can download as Excel, CSV or PDF. Columns are recognised by what they contain, so unfamiliar layouts work too, and you can check the preview before importing.
Do I have to share my net-banking login?
No. You download the statement from your bank and drop the file in. Mr Kanakku never asks for bank passwords.
What if I import the same statement twice?
Entries already in that account are skipped, you are warned if the statement looks like it belongs to another account, and any import can be undone.
I run a business from some of my accounts. Will that confuse it?
Mark those accounts as business and switch the view between personal, business, or everything. Staff salaries and client receipts are kept out of your household budget.
Can I send the figures to my auditor?
Yes. Download an Excel bank book for each account and financial year, with an account summary, ledger summary and month-wise totals, ready to forward.
Can my parents use it in Tamil?
Yes. One tap switches menus, labels and categories to Tamil on their device, while you keep English on yours.
